Viral TikTok feta pasta


  • 500 grams cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus extra for seasoning
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, for seasoning
  • 1 block of feta cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 packet of your preferred pasta
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • 2-4 tablespoons of fresh basil leaves
  • Extra olive oil for finishing


  • Preheat your Italina Pizza Oven for about 45 – 60 minutes
  • In a medium bowl, toss the cherry tomatoes with olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and plenty of black pepper until they are well coated.
  • Place the seasoned tomatoes into a heatproof dish suitable for your pizza oven.
  • Put the block of feta in the center of the tomatoes, and season it with more black pepper.
  • Place the dish into the preheated pizza oven and bake until the tomatoes have burst, and the feta has softened, for approximately 30 minutes. You can expect the oven’s intense heat to create a lovely roasted effect.
  • Continue to cook until the tomatoes and feta are golden brown, which should take about 10-15 minutes.
  • While the tomatoes and feta are finishing in the pizza oven, boil a large pot of salted water over high heat on a stovetop. Add the pasta and cook until it reaches the desired level of doneness, usually al dente, which is about 13 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the remaining water.
  • As soon as the roasted tomatoes and feta come out of the pizza oven, stir in the garlic. Use the back of a spoon to smash the tomatoes and feta into a smooth and creamy sauce. If some of the oil doesn’t combine completely, that’s perfectly fine.
  • Toss the cooked pasta into the tomato-feta mixture, along with half of the chopped basil, until it is evenly coated. Mix in the reserved pasta water, 2 tablespoons at a time, to help create a creamy sauce. Taste the dish and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • To finish, garnish with the remaining basil and a drizzle of extra olive oil. Serve immediately, enjoying the wood-fired flavors from your pizza oven.
